Description
Japanese Skimmia is a small evergreen shrub that has a mounded habit and aromatic whorls of glossy dark green leathery foliage with lighter undersides. The terminal panicles of fragrant creamy white flowers bloom in mid spring. Red berries follow in fall. Grows best in part shade and rich, well drained acidic soils.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance. No serious pests or diseases, though spider mites can be a problem in very warm and dry climates. Watch for Scale and aphids. Berries are toxic.
